Pollyanna National Conference 2027: The Power of Us — April 12–14, 2027, Charlotte, NC

Real change happens together.

A National Conference for schools, bringing students, educators, parents and leaders into a shared learning experience grounded in dialogue, reflection and community.

Why This Matters Now

In a time of division, uncertainty, and disconnection, the need for meaningful connection has never been greater.

Building Stronger and Kinder Communities is shared work.

Schools thrive when people listen to one another, learn from different perspectives and work toward a common purpose.

The Power of Us creates space for those conversations to happen.

A Conference Designed for School Communities

The National Conference is a three-day experience of learning, dialogue, reflection, and action.

Schools participate as either a 15-member Large POD or an 8-member Small POD.

A POD is a representative group from across the school community. The POD model creates space for different perspectives to engage with one another.

Through keynote conversations, interactive sessions, small-group dialogue, and dedicated time with their School PODs, participants gain practical strategies, deepen understanding, and leave ready to take meaningful action in their schools.

POD members include:

  • Alumni
  • Community engagers
  • Educators and staff
  • High school students
  • Leadership team members
  • Parents and Caregivers
  • Trustees

Each voice matters. Each role strengthens the whole.

Every voice is represented

Different perspectives deepen dialogue.

Ideas move into action

Teams return with strategies shaped by their community.

Change continues

PODs carry the work forward beyond the conference.

This is The Power of Us in practice.

“For several years, Thaden School has turned to Pollyanna’s resources to guide meaningful conversations about community and belonging across our campus. Attending the National Conference gave our team something rare: the chance to bring students, teachers, staff, and alumni together, listening across roles and building a roadmap for the work ahead. Every person in a school community deserves to be treated with respect and dignity, and Pollyanna has given us the language, structure, and confidence to pursue that work with intention.”

— Michael Maloy, Head of School, Thaden School, AR

“The student panel was a moment that stayed with me the most. I felt seen in a way that I don’t always feel seen at my own school. Even though we came from different schools and backgrounds, so many of our stories overlapped. It reminded me that I wasn’t alone. It gave me confidence, community, and a stronger belief in student voices.”

— Student, Texas
